GAYE A. AMICK CPT

Certified Professional Trainer Gaye A. Amick has been developing her dog training skills for over thirty years. She began as a young teenager assisting her father in the training of hunting and retrieval dogs. Gaye's a passion for training grew as she began to study canine behavior and learning theory. A professional career in dog training was a logical step.

Gaye has attended countless seminars and hands on workshops given by some of the USA's top professional dog trainers (the best of the best). She has studied under 2010 International Association of Canine Professionals Hall of Fame Inductee Scott Mueller,who was instrumental in developing the country's first Assistance Dog training program. She also studied under Bob Jervis,past Director of The International Associations of Canine Professionals.

In 2004 Gaye developed a Trainer's Apprentice Program for Northern Sky Obedience Academy in order to pass her knowledge of dog training on to others. Her apprentice program became the first of it's kind in the area.

Gaye was asked in 2009 to become a "Mentor Trainer" for The Animal Behavioral College which gave her yet another opportunity to share her knowledge.

In early 2010 Gaye began implementing a Psychiatric Service Dog Training Program (another first for the area)

DENISE L. STOCKDILL  Assistant Trainer:

Denise completed Northern Sky's Apprentice Program in 2004 and upon her completion was asked to join Northern Sky as an Assistant trainer.  Denise's speciality is working with dogs in our Board and Train Program. She instructs private lessons in Basic Obedience and handles an array of clerical duties.

Denise continues to broaden her dog training skills by attending a variety of seminars and workshops. She's currently studying under Gaye in the areas of Tracking, Scent Work and Personal Protection.
