Your one hour private lesson ensures you and your dog receive all attention you deserve. 
 
Our training formats are designed to create smooth and quick transitions from one level of training into the next.  We keep things simple but effective.  So smooth that most of our clients achieve some Advanced Obedience during their Basic Obedience program.  

Your dog will be trained to respond to a command the first time it's issued, not the third or fourth time.  We never raise our voices, make growling sounds or yell at any dog we are working with nor do we instruct you to do so.    

As dogs mature they experience physical and mental changes resembling that of a child including the cute fun loving toddler, a hormonal pre-teen, the rebellious teenager and a finally adulthood.  Communicating with your dog effectively during each phase is important, which is exactly why we offer  a "lifetime of free follow up" for any program you've completed.  

Your training program includes a free high quality leather leash. 

1.  Basic Obedience (includes Hand Signals)   $180.00          
Basic Obedience is where you begin to achieve the ultimate goal of owning a well trained dog.  Over the course of this program your pet learns to walk on a Loose Leash (anywhere in front of you without pulling), Sit, Down, Stay and we'll be introducing the Come command.  Our Come command is unique because we not only teach your dog to return to you but he learns learn to sit directly in front of you upon his return.  During this program your dog also learns to walk calmly at your side (Heel) and automatically sit at your side when you cease to move forward.    

Good Manners are just as important as any obedience command therefore addressing them is a normal part of our training process.  We'll help you solve problem behaviors such displaying overly excited reactions towards other dogs while on a walk, jumping, mouthing/nipping at your hands, pushing to get through doorways and any other problems you're encountering.

 Please note Emergency Commands are NOT included in this program (see our Advanced Obedience Program).
         
2.  Advanced Obedience (includes Hand Signals)  $180.00
Basic Obedience must be completed prior to entering this program. 

This program picks up where Basic Obedience ended and begins to build the foundation you and your dog need for future off leash control.  We work in a variety of situations where higher levels of distraction are present and we worked at increased distances from your dog.  You and your dog learn FIVE NEW commands during this stage of training plus two Emergency/Motion commands.  What are Emergency/Motion commands?  Here's just one example of their importance:

                                                             You've called your dog and he's happily running towards you when you spot an on coming 
                                                             car!  This situation is about to turn very dangerous if your dog continues running towards you 
                                                             because he's now running directly into the path of the on coming car!  Stopping  your dog is
                                                             imperative at this moment !!  
                  
Teaching your dog an Emergency Sit or Down command teaches your dog to stop in his tracks, perform the task (Sit or Down) and hold the position until you release him or give him further instructions.

3.  Off leash Program   
Includes Basic and Advance Obedience as well as working at even greater distances and in more difficult levels ofdistractions.

 4.  Basic Utility Training  FREE
This program is free when combined with the Basic and Advanced Obedience Programs. Utility training is designed to build confidence in the shy,fearful and/or insecure dog.  Basic Utility training is also useful as environmental and structural exercises during Tracking and Protection work.

7.  Personal Protection     Price details will be discussed at time of interview.  *Programs 1 thru 4 must be completed prior protection training.  Dogs and potential clients will be trained at the sole discretion of Northern Sky Obedience Academy.  We reserve the right to refuse service.  Potential clients must agree to a criminal background check (at their expense) and supply character references.   All prospective dogs shall be evaluated by Northern Sky.
  
8.  Remote Collar Training   Program rates apply plus the price of the collar.  Remote Training is ONLY done at the request of the client.  You make the decision not us!
      
9.  Board n Train Programs   $125.00 per day. 
Your dog stays with us for training (the length of stay is based on the specific program you have chosen for your dog).  When we've finished training your dog you receive free private lessons so we can show you how to communicate with your dog.

11. Litter temperament testing and puppy selection:  $35.00 per hour
