Northern Sky Obedience Academy Inc.'s clients have traveled from Mass., New Jersey, Ohio, Washington, North Carolina and throughout Michigan to have their dogs trained.

National K9 Professional Trainer Gaye A. Amick has been training dogs for over thirty years.  She began her love of training as a young teenager assisting her  father with training hunting and retrieval dogs. The love of training developed into a life long passion and career. 

Gaye is one of the only Certified  K9 Trainers in Northern Michigan. She has studied canine behavior, theory and evolution along with attending hands on training seminars and workshops.  Gaye has studied under Scott Mueller, who was instrumental in developing one of the first handicap assistance dogs and Bob Jervis past Director of the International Association of Canine Professionals.

Gaye's certifications include:  Puppy Developement, Breed Indentification, Utility Training, Basic and Advanced Obedience, Off leash Obedience, Tracking, Retrieval, Scent Detection (drug, cadaver, tobacco etc.), Behavior Modification and Personal Protection.
